The Pankhurst Trust (Incorporating Manchester Women’s Aid) (PTMWA) is seeking to appoint a committed and organised individual to provide a high quality service to women and their children fleeing domestic abuse, ensuring they are provided with a safe environment within the refuge setting.
About us: The PTMWA is a women-led organisation whose vision is to ensure that people, suffering, or at risk of domestic abuse receive appropriate support. We offer support by providing safe accommodation, specialist support services and by working in partnership with other agencies. In addition to our domestic abuse services, we deliver a range of services from our base at the Pankhurst Centre including a women’s drop-in where they can access legal advice.
About you: We are seeking an individual who has experience of working with vulnerable women and children within a supported housing setting. You will have excellent knowledge of housing and welfare benefits and you are able to confidently manage a case load of clients with multiple priorities. Ideally you will have significant experience of working with women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
About the role: We have 2 positions. As an Intensive Housing Management Worker, you will be responsible for providing high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and their children. You will provide one to one support, risk and safety planning to women who have experienced a high risk abusive relationship. You will holistically support women to manage their risk, increase their safety and help them to secure a move on property. The role requires knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse issues and the needs of those affected by it, and a commitment to the values of empowerment and equality. The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of building management for the Refuge site including reporting repairs and completing health and safety tasks.
Our domestic abuse services are accredited by the Women’s Aid National Quality Standards (Stage 1) and our IDVA and Outreach services have Safe Lives Leading Lights Status.
We offer: employer’s contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, birthday leave (after 12 months service), training programme and Cycle to Work scheme.
Duration: 1 fixed term for 12 months and 1 permanent subject to funding
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £20 868 per annum.
